Today felt like a tighter schedule for me when doing my tasks to contribute, but I managed to get everything I needed, which worked out perfectly. Our original actor, Brandon, wasn’t able to come the days we were available, so one of my lovely team members called up their friend, Jeremiah. He was available the days we needed and was totally down to help us out, so we were all set. We already contacted Jeremiah to be our actor at the last minute, so I didn’t want to have him worrying about anything related to filming like his props, set, and costumes. To take something off of his plate, I took up the task of putting together his costume. We aren’t able to film this weekend as originally planned, so to further prepare for when we finally get to work, I’ve been pulling some strings and putting together materials! My plan was to first go to goodwill, as today was the only day I was available to go, but I had no means of transportation. I also stayed later than intended due to my primary club at school today. As a backup, I went to a local thrift store that was a short walking distance from my school to search for some pieces before I walked home. The heat was battering today, even though it’s just mid-March, but within 15 minutes I was at my destination! The number one item I was on the search for was the red zip up jacket displayed and mentioned in multiple scenes of our script. I first combed through the women's section to get that out of the way, sometimes unisex jackets are thrown there bcause they’re smaller in size, but I had no luck there. The overwear rack was next, which was stuffed with sweatshirts, hoodies, and zip-ups, some of which bore charity and college logos. To my surprise, I did find a red zip-up hoodie among the large variety of colors. The hoodie had a small logo for some company in the corner of it, but I knew this was something I could easily remove with nail polish remover and some elbow work. Peeling screen printing sounds like it couldn’t be difficult, but then again, I find a way to make it hard for myself sometimes. Additionally, in our script we state that our actor wears casual clothing. With this in mind, I got a couple T-shirts that Jeremiah could have as an option in case he didn’t want to wear what he came in, or if his shirt didn’t match the look we were going for. By the time I was finishing up, I was able to get a ride to my next stop from one of my sisters. I stopped by Target and picked out a coyple of randim posters so the bedroom for our set wouldn't be bare, and so we could emulate a teen boy's bedroom! I quickly got home after this and started on removing this small screen-printed logo on this red jacket. Soon, I had it to the point where I could just peel it off, which felt like a breeze. After washing all of the clothing again, I was all good to go!
