Filming Prep: Steady As She Goes!

 Friday: 3/11/22

This past Saturday was our first filming day and I had a lot of preparation to do, so I got right to it! Starting Friday night, I started planning what I wanted to get during my Target run that night. I shot a few messages back and forth with my group and decided i'd pick up 4 posters instead of 2 like I was set on getting. With 4, we can use two for one scene and then switch them both out for the next to create the impression that something is "off" with the room. Once again I was having trouble getting a ride, originally I was set on tagging along with my mom since she was already going to Target. However, I fell asleep and she forgot I was coming with her so I missed my shot. After a bit of begging, my sister was able to give me a ride, jus a little bit later in the night. We went at around 8pm and after a starbucks stop and a bit of wandering in target, I left with 2 anime posters, a Harry Potter poster, a world map poster, and the usual random target kick knacks that you can't resist picking up. At the time, I also thought of picking up small toys, stuffed animals, or similar items to display in the room and then switch them out later with similar objects for the "other worldly" scene, giving the same sensation as the posters earlier described. However, for now I'm settling for my four posters and Kirby blind bag toy.

Saturday: 3/12/22

The next morning I woke up around 7am, with around 5 hours to spare before I was to be at our filming location. I got a message from one of my team members that we still needed a couple things for shooting, so I took it upon myself to get a couple of the things on the list to make things easier on us. The game plan for my saturday was to stop by a publix before heading over to Jordyn's place for filming, but my dad offered to take me for a quick publix stop as he was running errands, which was a perfect opportunity. I was getting the cans and apples I needed much earlier than I thought I was going to, so this meant I had more time to scout about the surrounding stores for things that could also be helpful for our cause. When I walked into Publix, I headed straight to the canned food isle. I had some trouble finding the fruits in particular, but that could just be my pitiful eyesight. I swear it gets worse and worse by the day! I should really get that checked out. Anyway, In the cans, I grabbed some pears, peaches, pineapple tidbits, cocktail mix, and a can of soup for good measure. I also grabbed cookies for my group because a little sweetness never hurt nobody. While I was checking out, I realized my friend works at the Publix I frequent. That was a pleasant surprise! I told her about my project when she asked about my plans for the day, and she wished me well, as did I do for her, then I was off. Next to my neighbourhood publix is an Office Depot, so I went in and got a pack of command hooks to give my group options on ways we could hang the signs that are to be on the door of our choice for a certain scene. Making my way home, I was set for the day and ready for what it may bring.

Not the same Publix I go to, but certainly a lovely one!

Creative Critical Reflection

This is my reflection! I had fun making it with my family and friends, thanks to them I was able to complete this. It was a good run.
